About Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA)

Central Ground Water Authority has been constituted under Section 3 (3) of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 to regulate and development and management of ground water resources in the country.
The Authority has been regulating this by way of issuing ‘No Objection Certificates’ for ground water extraction to all kinds of Industrial plants, Infrastructure and Mining Projects.

CGWA has a list of accredited Individuals and Institutions who are Qualified to undertake work for preparation of Comprehensive Hydrogeological reports and Impact Assessment Reports with and without modelling depending on the case.
Our chairman is accredited by Central Ground Water Authority(CGWA) for undertaking following work for application of NOC for groundwater abstraction.
